The Jaguar Xj220 is one of the forgotten super cars and it was produced in 1992 by Jaguar. This super car was the fastest car at that time. The vehicle features a 3.5 L V6 twin-turbo engine, which generates 542 horsepower at 7200 rpm. It has a 6-speed manual transmission, reaching 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph, an amazing speed for 1992. A total of 281 Jaguar XJ220 were produced and the original price was around $650,000. As of 2009, this car is worth around $150,000.

Many potential buyers put up a deposit of $80,000 USD to be on the waiting list to purchase this car. Since the production of this car was very limited (220 units per year and 350 max), many prospective buyers intend to purchase and sell this car right afterward to make an instant profit. However, due to many complications and a declined in the economy, many customers were unhappy and some even sued Jaguar.

Pagani Zonda F

First appeared at Geneva at a Auto Show in 2005, the all carbon fiber super car can reach 60 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds. With power of 443 kW/594 hp, and a top speed that passes 215 mph (346 km/h), Zonda F makes Pagani manufacturer to be at the level of another independent of famous super cars manufactures like Porsche, Lamborghini or Ferrari.

A car made by combining the sensibility of Juan Manuel Fangio, a F1 world champion 5 time in a row, about all that is related with technicality and the advance technology of Pagani, has a lot to offer, from the power to weight ratio of 384 W/kg, the six-speed manual transmission, the aerodynamic vents all around, not at least the carbon/ceramic brakes that allows the Zonda F to be on the top list of the cars with spectacular braking from 180 mph to 0 mph.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

The successor of the Diablo, the two seat, two doors Murcielago is a coupe introduced in 2002 by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. After 2 years, the open top Murcielago was introduced, a super car that has the same performance as the early version, but more aggressive rear flank, and of course at a higher price.

The buyer of a super car like Murcielago can enjoy the Lamborghini V12 engine, a six-speed manual or if he desires, a six-speed sequential automatic transmission.
The aerodynamics of this car is improved not only by the rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees, but also by the side mirrors that fold in when needed.

The LP640 model of Murcielago had a starting price of $350 000, higher than the original that could be found at a price tag of $273,000. But the differences between them are not just in the price, because the Murcielago LP640 can reach 60 mph in just 3.3 s, which is .5 sec faster that the original, telling us that the LP640 has a bigger power: 471 kW (640 bhp) at 8000 rpm compared with 433 kW (580 bhp) at 7500 rpm of the first Murcielago.

The Murcielago is a powerful super car that got its deserving name from the bull that survived 24 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba and his life was spared by the matador giving him a rare honor.

Porsche Carrera GT

Developed in 1999, Porsche Carrera GT, manufactured by Porsche of Germany, is priced at $440,000 dollars. It is well worth its price if we count the 5.7 litre V10 engine producing 612 DIN (605 SAE) horsepower (450 kW) and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) in 3.9 seconds, touching a maximum speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

The design is stunning too, Carrera GT has a 5 colors paint schemes that includes: black, guards red, fayence yellow, basalt black, GT silver and seal grey.
The innovating thing about this car is the way that its engine is placed: with the use of a clutch made of a high-tech ceramic material, it`s allowing the engine to sit lower in the chassis than in any other super car. This feature is not only making the Carrera GT a road car with the looks of a race one, but also improves its aerodynamics and lowers its center of gravity.

Porche Carrera GT does have traction control even if, like some of its competitions, doesn`t use electronic driving aids such as dynamic stability control.

David Cardoso Imagines the Audi Hydron Amphibious Study

Much like flying cars, the notion of amphibious automobiles has been embedded in the public's collective conscious for ages. Now, with the Audi Hydron, artist David Cardoso has re-imagined the 'automoboat' as a proper (if futuristic) car that can also be comfortable on the water.

Here's what David told us about his latest conceptual creation:

"The Audi Hydron is a 3 seat, electric amphibious vehicle with the looks of a road car that can be used as a "boat" when necessary. Today, most amphibious vehicles are transformed road vehicles. The Hydron, on the other hand, is especially designed to give an original mix between land and water capacities.

The cockpit is relatively narrow to have a reduced water resistance. The doors have a hollow structure to guide the water from the front to the rear wheelarches. In water, the Hydron is propelled by hollow axe wheels. Each wheel is driven by an electric engine that can turn 90°.

Other advantages of independent turning wheels are the several driving modes on land such as a the parking mode and the rotation mode. It is also possible to have front, rear or 4 wheel drive depending on the driving conditions."

The Hydron's boat-ness is clearly the attention-grabber here, but those rotating wheels would make for a spiffy solution to some people's parallel parking issues.

Audi Gentleman's Hot Rod Racer by Mikael Lugnegård

Audi seems to be getting a lot of attention lately. We recently showed you one artist's take on a floating Audi, the Hydron study, and now someone else has chosen to interpret a hot rod Audi.

Similar in concept to Volvo's T6 Roadster, the Audi Gentleman's Racer is an old-school rodder with foreign ancestry. Created by industrial designer Mikael Lugnegård of Sweden, the "Gent's Racer" does its part to commemorate a piece of American automotive history with an (unofficial) Audi touch. The grille is actually Audi, but adapted for the unique look of this proposed model.

According to the people at Dieseno Art, the concept would feature an aluminum spaceframe, Ohlins suspension, and Brembo brakes all under a carbon fiber body. Power for the featherweight would theoretically come from Audi's version of the Gallardo's V10, but sending power to the rear wheels instead of all four. Crazy, or crazy awesome?

Inside would be the standard jewelry: carbon fiber, aluminum, and Alcantara.

Of the Gent's Racer, Lugnegård says: "The intended market is basically a pro racer who wants something classy for his personal trackday, as well as for driving to the new, exclusive restaurant down town with his lady. I could really imagine seeing someone like Samuel Hubinette in this car!"

Audi A7 Sportback in S-Line Sport Trim: First Photos

The flow of information coming forth on the all-new Audi A7 Sportback, which made its world premiere on Monday, continues. This time we have the first details and photos on the two S-Line packages that will be available at launch.

Starting with the S line sport trim, this package adds a taut sport suspension that drops the A7's ride height by 10mm, and 19-inch wheels wrapped in 255/40 R19 rubber or optionally, 20-inch rims with 265/35 R20 tires.

It also upgrades the A7 Sportback's interior with sport seats draped in a combination of black leather and alcantara or in full leather with an embossed S line logo on the back, as well as a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel trimmed in perforated leather and brushed aluminum accents on the dashboard, center console and door panels.

There is also a complementary S line exterior package with updates to the exterior design including a reshaped front bumper with more pronounced air inlets and a lip spoiler, side skirts and a rear apron housing a diffuser and chromed tail pipes.
